Default Durango ( race truck ) starting and stalling out

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum, and I am having big problem with my durango.

First of all, I got it 3 weeks ago, It was running fine when I went to pick it up but the day after the truck would not start ( no spark ) so I changed the Coil and it worked. This truck is going to be a race truck, so I completely removed the interior, the dash, useless stuff inside and did some work to the engine . I changed the spark plug, spark plug cable, installed some headers and did the mod on the intake ( keggar mod ). I was waiting to get my headers before I could get it running but now that I got them, and installed. The truck is firing up for 2-3 sec and stalling? If i step on the gas pedal the rpm goes up but shutting down like if something is going off? I will put a new gas tank with external fuel pump with new filter and regulator hoping this will solve the problem but honnestly I don't think so. Anyone know what to do or what I could try? Thanks guys!

Sounds like the security system shutting it down. Year and engine would help.

Hi, It is a 1999 i think, with a 5.9L. But im getting closer now. I sprayed intake cleaner while starting the motor, and It kept running until I quit spaying. It might be my fuel filter or fuel pump.

Hi guys, So i just got done installing my new set up for the fuel tantk. new stainless steel tank inside the truck with a new strainer, new external fuel pump, fuel regulator and new fuel lines. The pump is pushing 50 psi ( tested at the regulator, about 10 feet before the fuel rails. The truck is doing the same thing as before. It runs for about 3-4 seconds, somethimes longer than shut down. Any idea guys? Should I change the injector or what?

If it's not a fuel or compression problem it's got to be an ignition problem.

Ignition going off after 2-3 seconds? What would cause this and if I spray intake cleaner in the intake the truck keeps running?

I'd start with a test light and see if either the ASD relay or the coil is losing power after a couple seconds.
