just point out that you are doing the environment a favor by not putting all the hazordous waste from e-car batteries out there every 5-7 years, and then point out the carbon footprint required to build a new car vs drive one thats already made into the ground. (most of the time those tree hugger types dont understand the full magnitude of what is going on before they lease the car or after they turn it in)
