Default 4.7l HOAT vs IAT

So, about 15000 miles ago, I messed up and did a coolant flush then used IAT coolant. I'm going to be fixing this issue within the next week or so, but, I was wondering basically how bad I've messed up. I have a little smoke, but I believe it's from the valve stem seals, being the smoke is only at idle or at high pressure situations.

Mixing types of coolants is usually what causes problems. If you flushed well with distilled water it probably didn't hurt anything.

I appreciate your input, but sadly I dropped a valve the other day, so I'm going to look into it and see if the head is rebuildable, and will probably go ahead and replace the lifters and headgaskets on both heads if so. But if you've got any advice as far as rebuilding a head goes, I'd appreciate that a lot. I've never rebuilt heads before, I've only cored them out while working at a scrap yard, so any advice helps. Definitely going to do my research beforehand and have a machine shop look at it and see if its ok.

Did you drop the valve, or the valve seat?

I'm not entirely sure yet, it wasn't knocking at all, so i don't think i dropped a seat, but I'm still fairly new to working on cars, so I could be wrong, the lifter and spring didn't seem loose at all, but when I pulled the valve cover, the rocker was just laying there

Well, it's likely gotta come off anyway. See what the carnage looks like when you have it open.

You may not need heads, just new lifters. They freeze up eventually and cause the rocker to eject. I went thru the same scenario last year. Truck was misfiring and a cylinder 5 rocker was just laying there when I pulled the valve covers. Got a few threads you can read thru.

I went through and read the threads, I planned on all new lifters just because I've heard too much about them, but I also blew a headgasket on the passenger side, so that cylinder head has to come off anyway, so with that, I figured I'd go ahead and do the drivers side head gasket and the timing chain just as "preventative maintenance" and clean the top of the pistons because I know I've got a hot spot or two that have been causing early combustion, making it so I have to pay extra for premium. Thank you for the input and the threads, I really appreciate it

Know how hot it got for how long for that to happen by chance? I’ve heard 220C for a few mins will do that but I feel like mine has done it.

I have a block and heads if you need any parts. And a tow package trans cooler/lines. Probably a ton of other stuff
