Which replacment door speakers???
Some of you may have noticed I just picked up this project 2000 Durango. Pic here: My 2000 Durango
One of the items I want to address are the door speakers. The 24 year-old speakers are blown out and are all but usable. So I'm looking for suggestions for speakers that will replace the factory units without modifying anything. Drop-in, plug-n-play is what I'm after. Sound wise, I'm not after a big thumping sound system. Just something that is equal to or better than factory and I don't want to pay a ton. So what has worked for you all?
Thanks in advance!

Can anyone confirm if 5-1/4" - inch is the correct factory size?
Edit: I see people using 6-1/2" on YouTube.

Thinking these will fit the bill -
Since you are replacing the stock speakers as I did without replacing the head unit or amp I suggest these. it is what I replaced mine with
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_236TER...minator6S.html
Front door with tweeeters
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_236TER...rminator6.html
Rear door
the following were included no charge when i ordered my speakers

https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120728...Harnesses.html
https://www.crutchfield.com/p_142SAC...-Brackets.html
I was even able to use the included speaker grills under the door panel.
the tweeters fit perfectly in the factory tweeter bracket al i did was use some wetherstripping adhesive so they would not vibrate loose (rtv or caulking or flex seal paste works as well) I would suggest adding a bit of sound deadener to each door panel behind the speaker while you have it open (attached to outer door skin so to cut down on speaker vibration on outside)
I wish I had a camera at th time i did this (In December) so I could share the process it was pretty easy to be honest.

my stock unit a day after installing door speakers display went kaput so I upgraded but still use the Infinity amp for now.

I like these as they are not Hi watt speakers so it works great with the stock amp, early in my audio upgrading days I made the mistake of installing some speakers that handled a high max and i think 125 watt rms without realizing I would not get the great sound or SPL without a amp capable of providing that wattage . I learned my lesson quickly

Ya no prob, Just remember if you get them through Crutchfield.com to be sure to add the wiring adapters as well as the Brackets (Should add to cart as free items like they did for me.
The only thing is the Tweeters up front the Included wiring froom MTX as well as the Harness are not just plug and play like the rear and the front lowers you will need to either Solder and cover with shrink tube or use a butt connector ( I recommend the solder and shrink tube if you have the ability)
I am curious with your you are still using the factory head unit as well as the Amp correct?
If so do the front sound louder then the rear? I think my amp may have been injured when the system was used with the old disintegrated ones as I have to set the fader to +2 rear to even out the volume.
After today when I was just sitting in the Durango reading the service manual and listening to Heavy Metal music I decided I need to replace the Factory amp with one of these 2 options
