Default want a Durango

Hi y'all, I'm glad I came across this forum as I was researching recalls on Durango's. I am interested in buying one. I have spent 7 months test driving all sorts of suv's, and I keep going back to the Durango. My must haves are 4wd and third row seat. Explorers had too many recalls on electrical stuff for my liking, and were hard to see out of. Trailblazers, well lets just not even open that wound, my husband has a Tahoe now and will never buy another. The Durango is the easiest to drive, see out of, the best sounding stereo, I just love the looks of it. I have found a 2002 Durango R/T fully loaded, extra aftermarket stuff as well for a price I am willing to pay. Has the 5.9 v8, 55k miles. The only thing I dont care for on the leather seats is the swatches of microfiber, we have microfiber furniture and I HATE it....

The R/T is sweet. I have an '06 Ram and when my lease runs out next year I'll be looking for an '03 R/T or an SLT Plus with leather interior.

The D is a great choice and the 5.9 is a bulletproof engine. With proper maintenance I have heard that it will go to 300k miles. The recalls as you are probably well aware of are not big issues. My only gripe would be the tranny is not the best in the world. I would make sure to get the D that you are interested in to a shop of your choosing for them to look it over and make sure it is sound.

Well we drove a ways to pick up this baby, I LOVE it!!! Except the fact that the guy had removed all of the Dodge Durango nameplates, along with the 5.9 R/T ones, called the Dodge house, they want $75 for one piece!!! I am going to have to replace one of teh very back seatbelts, it looks as if it has been cut and frayed, hanging together by a single strand, so we tied it in a knot so that if it decides to break loose, it wont roll up into track. It has a lot of windnoise, but I have noticed that when you open the doors, that rubber seal along with headliner likes to pull away from the frame, is this the cause of the windnoise? I had driven an '05 and it did too. I would like to do a lift and brushguards. Has brand new tires so I wont have to worry about that. It also has aftermarket security and auto start. I have already had every singleseat filled up, but that is what we bought it for, the room. It is so easy to see out of, much more than the Explorer.
