Default dohc swap questions

ok dont rip into me cause this topic has been covered... i know it hasbut i need to know some other stuff... first of all... can i just swap the heads only?? secondly, will i be able to use my sohc gauges with no tach still with the dohc head swap?third, and will i need the comp out of the dohc car???? thanks ever1

dont u also have to swap the pistons, valve cover, hood(if you dont have a powerbuldge hood, or gutt the supports), intake manifold and the exhaust manifold?

you dont HAVE to swap the pistons, but you will lose performance instead of gaining anything from the lower compression, that would befine if you were putting a turbo on with it

spark plug wires....passenger side motor mount plate....intake manifold....exhaust manifold...valve cover..and a few others

Spud, you can use DOHC wires on a SOHC right? Just not the way other around, correct?

the neck of the sohc wires are a slight bit longer....you could use them but they wont seal on the valve cover properly.....if you were to wash your engine for example, you would fill the spark plug tubes with water...

the neck of the dohc wires might be too short to reach the plugs.....i would check it, but out of 4 neons i dont have a sohc

ive got some nice sohc plug wires in the garage.....i tried putting them on the r/t but they are too long....so they just sit in a box and i have to buy new ones for the r/t
