FUSE BOX
Hello Im Having Problems Every Once In A While
With The #2 Fuse "Park Lamps" The One That Powers The Lights On The Cluster
well ipopped off the topdash and looked at all the wires and unscrewed the fuse box and all the wires seem to be fine and i plugged a fuse in and it worked just fine nothing wrong all day then tonight i get in my car and start it up turn on the headlights and popped that fuse and it does it everyonce in a while actually like everyday and the miny blade fuses ARNT very cheap
any reason why i would be blowing this so often ? could it have something to do with the Cd Player??
Because i dont know just let me know waht you think Thank You

OK, fuse #2 is a 15 amp that feeds the park lamps and also the black/yellow wire to the radio so- yes it could be related to your CD player. Fuse #2 also feeds the dash illumination lights through a dimmer and fuse #12 a 4 amp. Is your Cd player an after market? If it is you may be drawing power from black/yellow rather than from the red/white wire.
yeah its the same car the reason it was smokin was becuz i put a 30 amp fuse were its suppose to be a 15 becuz it kept blowing but it just fine
i gots a question how come there are 2 fuses that control the dash lights??
#2 and number #12
i think i figured out the problem with the blowing fuse,I re-hooked up the cd player.
only timeCan tell though
ill check it out tomorrow
let me know about the fuses #2 and #12
i couldnt get my cd player to turn onand i had the battery wire and the ignition wire for cd player open wired and they touched and everything came on including my dome light which wouldnt come on so ill see whats going on

The main fuse #2 is a 15 amp that feeds the park lights it then branches off through the dash light intensity control andthrough fuse #12 a 4 amp to feed the dash illumination lights.
By the way that short may have glitched the PCM, I would try resetting it and see if the codes come back or not. It’s worth a try.

To reset the PCM just disconnect the neg. battery cable for about 10 min.and then reconnect, this should reset the codes and the check engine light should then be off. If there is still a problem the codes will come back.
As far as the fuse blowing I would try disconnecting the cd player for a while and see if it still blows the fuse. If it still blows the fuse then I would suspect a short in the park light wiring. The black wire with a yellow stripe is the one connected to this fuse.
Note: if you have remote keyless entry the the same black wire with a yellow stripe feeds power to it as well.

take out your cd player and make sure that all the wires are covered up good.
through some wire nuts on them. just make sure that none of the wires are touching metal.
mine was doing that same thing and it was because one of the wires was touching metal.
