if you want the console to be secure then you need it in there....
the chunk weighs a few pounds....unless you making an extreme drag car, then i wouldnt say its worth getting rid of....but thats just my opinion

duct tape is the best, it canfix anything...just the other day i saw a crx with duct tape holding upitssideskirts
and for the chunk of aluminum inever hade one soget rid of it and the console shave a few more pounds ipersonally wouldn'tget rid of the console for looks.
