Default 99 neon r/t questions

i looked at a 1999 neon r/t. its black with the silver stripes. 5 spd, a/c,cruise,tilt,moonroof etc etc. i was wondering if anyone has any info on these that would help in my decision to buy it. body is good, interior is good and has about 150k on it. any help would be great. the last (running) neon i had was a 2000 plymouth neon.....the 4 door automatic so this is a tad different.

thanks all
jeff

he said they have had it since 03 and they havent done the headgasket or timing belt. i checked on the timing belt deal and its $350 to have it replaced. car is clean, body doesnt have any rust. small spot on wing where paint is funny (getting thin). nneds brakes, valve cover gasket and maybe struts buti found struts cheap. i noticed when i opened the hood that that was the intake with the opening to the drivers side. the plastic piece attached to the hood didnt match up to it........ it was kinda going from front to back. i thought they should come together some way for the air to get into the airbox/intake.

i would like to get the car........seeing ive heard it gets about 40mpg and id like to mod it alittle........ just a couple things.

I would pay around $2000 for the car depending on overall condition. Some good KYB GR-2 struts will cost you about $200 for all 4 and the valve cover gasket kit will be around $20.

Be careful though, you might start modding it because you will love it so much

well if i could get someone who knows these cars to change out the timing belt, struts and brakes id be a happy camper. the moonroof doesnt slide back but i hear thats common.

he wanted 2300 for it. but im thinking 1900 seeing i have to get the timing belt and brakes done. i can deal with the moonroof and the cd player not working. mean it runs and drives........ plus the a/c works good, lol

Take spudsterier up on his offer. I'd trust him to work on my neon.
