can crank pulley be removed by hand?
ok i dont have an impact and have no way to get the car to a friends house who has one... the haynes manual says to lodge a bar into the engine block to lock the crank pulley in place then break it loose with a breaker bar.... is it even possible? has anybody on here done it that way???
ifeel like if i wedge a bar into the block im gonna ding it up quite a bit though.... what method did you use to hold the pulley in place when removing the center bolt???
is your car is a 5-speed then just put it in 5th and have someone hit the brakes. if its an auto. probably put it in P and maybe have someone hit the brakes? but thats how i did it. but i have a 5-speed.

i shove a big screwdrive in between the spokes and under the lip of the oil pan....just make sure you dont set anything on the timing cover or you will break it
i tried the 5th gear method because thats what some other guy on the forum said and had a friend hold down the brakes and it did absolutely nothing.... i guess im gonna have to do the screwdriver method thanks guys

yea for the crank pulley bolt. it worked great for me. the crank moved a little but then it rested and didn't move at all.
