i joined this forum thats for the Columbus Ohio area, and the people there are really harsh and such to new people...their all jack asses...but anyways, their almost all Neon haters and some of the Mods are telling me that i'm an idiot for wanting to mod a Neon and that the 2.0's in the Neons are horrible engines to mod and all that good jazz... but its now come to the point that the other members are standing up for me lol. but the mods are still like its not worth modding it and such. anyways... i dont think i'll be staying there long...oh yea they are all also convinced that the Neons 2.0 is out of the DSMs...

I think there was a time (mid nineties?) when the non turbo DSMs (eclipse, talon, etc.) used the same 2.0 as the neon. I don't think it is the same now though.

 

nope. not the same. they had the same displacement, but not the same motor.

 

my mistake, you must have an A588 instead of a 420A. The 420A made an appearance in both vehicles, at least the block and possibly heads are the same. the intake is different for sure, and is usually the most distinguished difference between the two vehicles.

 

i believe the 420a was only in the eclipse

ok, got it clarified, the 420a was mitsubishis designation for the 2.0 l with a redesigned head and 10 less hp, so some modifications are the same between both. sorry if i came across as a jerk; I used to really be into the 2nd gen dsm's. Mostly the 4g63's though.

So, what kinda cars are these ppl driving.? A neon engine not a good one to mod..?...lmao Prolly some camero owner that I blew by in the past..now has a grudge against neons..
