I would say Goof Off is probably your least problem causing product. I used to build a lot of R/C airplanes and use this stuff called trim solvent during some covering processes. It'll work on taking your adhesive off, but I'm not positive that it won't remove some of your clear coat as well. You can get this stuff at any hobby shop in the airplane section. Wear a mask too. This stuff will send you skyward if you're breathing it too long!!!

Just realized you said you want to get the adhesive off the trim and not the car!

Solvent may still be okay, but if you do try it, test it out on a small piece. I hate to have caused you to melt your trim!!!

goo gone, rubbing alcohol, or lighter fluid. I have used them all. They are work ok, not great, but ok. I dont know what they would do to trim though. You should also get some really fine sand paper and sand it off.

Oh, I used lighter fluid when i did it to one of my other cars. I pulled the trim back a little and put it right on the tape. Let it sit of a minute or two and it pulled right off. Another way to do it is to start pulling it off of one side, then soak it with soapy water. Gently pull the rest off as you use a sponge to keep the tape saturated. I just reread what i wrote, and it confused me. I hope you understand what i am trying to say.

I do some part time work at a body shop and we use a rubber wheel that goes on a drill it works fast and does not hurt the paint as long as you do not keep it in one place to long or press to hard we use it to take off pen stripes and rubber moldings like you are talking about you can find it at most auto body paint supply store's they are like 10 or 15 bucks

Belive it or not brake cleaner that is non flamable works great. Try it on a small area to make sure but my experiance has always bee that it will remove the glue and not harm the paint. Takes a little elbow greese but it comes of farly fast.

Good luck
