i work with fiberglass all the time
dont get the fiberglass resin, thats a bit more fun to work with then you like and you do need the sheets of fiberglass to go with it.....try to get some short hair fibeerglass jelly....it works just the same as bondo, but its stonger and wont crack as easy....plus you dont need to use the sheets, it has small fiberglass hairs in the jelly

I use it all the time in hawaii because vehicles rust so much here, if you got little dings in your car just use bondo, Ive used bondo glass for deep rust holes, I used on the roof of my truck but you end of putting bondo over it for the final job.

becuz the people who had the car before me bondod the rain gutters on the roof and the bondo split up out of the paint so im thinking of sanding that down and redoing it better.. but if i use fiber glass how do you get rid of the checkerd look do you bondo over it ??? cuz when ive used fiber glass it has a checkered look as the pattern of the mesh has

if it has the checked look then you used the resin and never put the jelly over top of it.......
the resin with the mat is used more for fixing holes.....but you still need to put bondo or fiberglass jelly over top of it......

i am in the process of forming a gauge pod for my fuel pressure gauge that will mount in the engine compartment.....it is actually turning out pretty good, hopefully i will be done in a few days since i have to get my motor today, i wont have time to work on the pod....
most important thing about fiberglass is to take your time and not use too much hardener
