i searched all over the forum to find out how to get the Vss Gear out of the tranny

do i have to take the tranny apart and if so were at

there are alot of bolts on it

please help and is this part buyable at a Dealership Parts store ???

ontop of the tranny in the back.......there is 1 bolt that holds the sensor part down.....pul it up carefully and the gear will be stock on the end of it.......

Yes it is, but you will have to splice the new connector on there. You may not have to do this with the OEM one from the dealer.

NO I DROPPED THE GEAR INTO THE TRANNY

the part that hooks to the sensor

i know how to change the vss Spud
but the gear that goes on the end of it fell down into the tranny through the hole were the sensor mounts

well that wasnt explained in the 1st post....

i have had that problem before....i could stick my finger in there and move it back to where i could get it out with a pair of pliers.......
i also had one before that i couldnt get the gear after it fell in there......so i just left it and put a new gear in there.....good thing it was plastic.....about a year later i took the tranny apart and there was the gear, all flattened out, but didnt hurt the tranny

ive always heard dealers suck

so i was kind of weary of haveing to buy this part thinking that they would over charge but it was only 4 bucks

yeah

so no transmission injury could happen???

does the speed sensor control the tack becuz since i took it out my tach is crazy bouncing every were

and if its not the VSS then were is the Tach Hooked To ??

the tach gets its reading through the pcm and from the coil pack

im not gonna say that YOU wont have any tranny problems......im just informing you that i didnt

i ended up getting my new gear from a tranny that i had sitting around......i think i have 4 extra gears now

hey spud i figured i explained it there by sayiung the VSS gear not the VSS itself
