how can you tell

RE: how can you tell
with the car running and in gear, slowly let out the clutch.....with a new clutch, the car will start moving after barely releasing the pedel......with a bad clutch, you will be able to almost completely let off the pedel before the car moves.....
or
drive down the road at about 25mph.......put the car in 4th gear and let off the clutch.....then hit the gas.....
if the clutch slips then its going bad

RE: how can you tell
it might be atarting to show signs of going bad....but depending on how you drive it could last another 25,000 miles.....
1st thing....check and make sure your rear main seal and cam sensors arent laeaking oil...otherwise you might be getting some oil in there that is causing the slipage.....
if thats all good, then it wouldnt hurt to replace it before it gets really bad....
the weight in the car can show signs of a bad clutch sooner then no weight since the car is pulling altot more..
its not too hard to replace the clutch with the right tools...i use an engine hoist and drop the tranny through the bottom of the car and that seems to work pretty well
im not sure about the mopar clutch, but it is the same as the PT cruiser clutch as far as i knew
