but doesnt this statement say that you have seen 1st hand that weight loss gains hp?????
ORIGINAL: tattoojack
for every 4 pounds (on average, depending on the car) you gain 1 horsepower. thats a fact. seen it on a dyno so give that **** a rest.

believe whatever you want. but my stock 96 sohc mtx with NO upgrades/boltons/etc.and isstripped of everything that wont make the car go faster, will absolutely destroy a stock car without any lightening done to it. who ever thinks this is false is a ****in retard.

weight lossdose not gain hp you lose time thats all and thats coming from someone who loves weight loss....so it will be faster but it will not gain hp
better way of saying it isyour engine will still be the same hp but the times will all go down 0-60, 1/4 mile, and any other time you try to do.....because the hp to weight distribution is way better for racingyou will fell this power .......put dub's,sub's,and a millon useless crap in a car and you will fell the diffence there too

thats exactly what i was sayin. these guys sayin weightloss is pointless are outta their damn minds! a dyno does not take into account: weight, drag, aerodynamics, friction. it only measures the strenght of the engine. but you are not just drivin an engine, you are driving the whole car. so if it weighs less the engine can do more! same HP or not! so can we finally all agree that takin stuff off your car that doesnt make it go faster WILL increase 0-60, top speed, and cornering ability since that extra weight is no longer pushing centrifically on the car.

and i have said that on a race car im sure weight reduction will help....but here people are talking about doing it to just a regular everyday car thats completely stock....just seems pointles in my eyes....

on a stock car it's not thatimportent but when you have a fully modded car it is the next step to go faster....but you can do it at anytime. however some cars need weight or the wheels will spin(way to much) but if get good tires you can get away with it
