Weren't you planning on having them assemble it? I remember they charged you an outrageous amount though. Well dude that sucks, hard. I hate it when you have to back track on something you worked hard on. Oh well, **** happens, its the story of my life.

ORIGINAL: spudsterier
i actually assembled it....i know it sounds bad...
i wanted the shop that did the block work to assemble it but the guy said they wouldnt do it.....(i wonder why)
when i spun the bearing on the original motor, it was for the #1 piston......the shop was supposed to smooth it down, polish it, and balance it......i wonder if they didnt do the whole job since the rod that knocking is the #1.....

i was actually thinking about all that earlier...
well here is a story...
the shot that did the engine work was supposed to assemble it, but they ended up telling me they wouldnt do it.....the shop also order the bearings for me and they were all oversized....but as i was thinking about it, i would of figured the #1 would of needed an even larger size then the other 3.....tomorrow morning i plan on going to the shop

Usually when a shop does your crank they will turn all the journals under size the same amount to prevent any mix or match problems.
You didn't say what work was done to the rods or if they were new. Mopar went to cracked cap rods that can't be rebuilt to stock outside bearing diameter. You have to hone the rod's big end oversize then use a bearing with a thicker shell.
I've been hearing that certain aftermarket rods are not all that geat and need to be checked for proper sizing on the big end.
Just some thoughts as I have the same thing going on with a 1998 Plymouth Expresso I picked up for $200. Haven't gotten around to dropping the pan yet.

well then there must be a different problem if they all should be the same size.....i dont know what work the shop did to the crank. the reciept says it was balanced and polished....i know it has oversized bearings alredy...either .10 or .20 over, i cant remember and wont know until i pull one of them out. the rods were brand new eagle 3-d h-beam forged rods
