ok i can get a 2nd gen 2.0 sohc head for 50 bucks with everything with it ready to bolt up will it bolt to my 97block reason i want to do it is becuuse my head is going and rapping real bad and the cam seal is going and i think a valve is bent will a new head bolt right up??? please let me know asap so i can go tommorow

The Second generation2.0 SOHC is the same engine we have in all our Neons with the exception of a hotter cam and improvedintake manifoldand Throttle body. This engine lasted from 1993 to 2005 and ended with the Neon.
Yes that head will work and you'll bennifit from a better Cam and a bit better flow, but it will bolt right up!. My advice is go for it and if you don't totally beleive me I will buy the head from you or whoever is selling it

The Magnum name is given to almost all Engines used by Dodge, The block is the samecasting#and the head is almost identical to the first Gen 2.0 only difefrence is better cam and improved flow.

But to answer the original question, yes it will work fine. You won't have the EGR anymore though however if you have emissions testing and you may get a CEL for it.
