possable... anything is possable...

probable... no

the most hp that a neon has ever layed down in a 2.4 turbo (non-srt) is right around 600... heres a pic of grover... his owner is a guy named Len...

how...

Huge *** turbo....6000 (if you want it done right)
probally switch to a DCR 2.6 block and pay DCR about 20000 just for the bolck

then about7000 extra bucks for all types of stuff....including upgrading every single suspention part

then another 10000 just to make sure

The car would run on race fuel only and be compleatly unstreetable... and doing things that has never been done to a neon or even thought of....

Oh then you would also have to cyro the whole transmission... like len did.... and his transmissions last him about 15 runs down the track before flying apart in a million pieces....

there wa a used DCR 2.6 stroker motor on srtforums for sale a while back for $9,000 i think.....not including the turbo or anything else....just the block and head[&:]
but even with a HUGE turbo, it was only pushing 700-750hp

wat bout the dcr twin turbo setup i have seen around... i heard some nice numbers from it and it was only on a conservative tune and not that much boost.

It is very possible to get 800 hp in a neon, a neon that is just the shell with a dragster frame... The weak unibody of the neon could never handle 800 hp in stock form, or even just a mildly reinforced form. Then you gotta worry about a transmission, built neon transmission are only really designed to handle half that, then the cv joints are gonna be a bitch to keep from snapping.

well you could drop a built 3.0 in which could if built properly might get 800 hp but you could throw in a V-8 which could easily generate 800 hp
the thing you need to consider is the power to weight ratio more so than HP the thing is with 800hp you will have a hard time getting it all to the wheels without breaking loose the thing is even with 200-300 hp many guys are turning 13 second 1/4 mile times or better so in reality you need to figure how fast you want to go and then work on that
