Default fuel pressure

i just ran a pressure test on my 98 neon 2.0 SOHC and it was @ 50psi. i have been having trouble with misfires. is the feul regulator/filter the cause??and do i have to replace the one in the tank or can i put a inline regulator and filter to bring down the pressure. and would a CAI have anything to do with that high of pressure.

the filter is in the tank connected to the pump and combined with the regulator

50psi isnt high at all. you have a fuel filter/regulator (yes both in one piece) mounted on your fuel pump module and a fuel stainer mounted on the end of the fuel pump. just i case your wondering.

can i put a inline regulator and filter to bring down the pressure.
yes but not necessary

CAI have anything to do with that high of pressure
no.

if that's your car in the sig that would be a warm air intake.

.EDIT. this link gives all the info on the fuel system

it may be shielded from the header and block, but the air in the back of the mtoor still gets heated up pretty good.....you wont have a real cold air intake unless the air filter is in front of the motor
