ok so i wanna throw upgraded cams into my all motor r/t
thinking like a #14

dont i have to then get upgraded spring and vlaves and other goodies?
will any of these work from oem parts off a pt crusier
theres a couple in my boneyard
one w the valve cover still on
one with the internals exposed to air/water

so?

you have to get the springs no if and's or butts...

and 16's are where the fun starts...

im basically asking if i can use anything off a pt loser in the jy
and if it matters if they have been exposed to air/water(though being covered in oil does help alot)

 

you can use the whole head assembaly minus the valves if 2003 or up... roller rockers... another car to look at is the intrepid 2.7 for the head components... much stronger... the guys running the crane 26 and 28's are forced to use them or the expensive rodes lifters...

 

wat other head components are worth grabbing besides the springs & retetioners?
cams? valve cover?

and if its not a '03 or higher?

still unamswered, wat about exposeure to air/water

 

sorry if I confuesed you... but you will still have to use the upgraded springs for the crane cam...

they changed the head in 2003 to a square port like the srt's ports... and hte valves changed as well...

I wouldent mess with the one that's been exposed to air to long....

no everything but the valves if over 2003... I would definatly get the lifters and roller rockers... they ARE an upgrade...
