Hi. This is making me crazy. My neon was running fine and one day it just wouldn't turnover. I turn the key to start and all lights and dings work, but when I try to crank the engine, it just clicks once and no turnover.
Here's what I've checked:
1: All fuses - checked out ok.
2: Battery terminals - spotless, no corrosion.
3: Battery charge - I did check it, but its brand new so of course it was fully charged.
4: Battery cables - replaced the cables not long ago.
5: Starter - I just installed the starter when I replaced the battery cables and it's been working fine since.
This problem WAS intermittent. It would start fine, I would go to work and park it. At the end of the day it wouldn't start, just click. If I waited for a little while, it would start like there was no problem. NOW it never starts. Only the clicking. It's very important that I figure out the problem. Thanks for any help.

Well I think I've narrowed it down to a grounding problem. Here's is the current news on the situation.
I disconnected the ground wire coming from the negative battery terminal thinking that maybe it had a short in it or something. I ran a brand new wire in place of it. Doing this gave me no power at all, which is weird but anyway, I took off the new wire and re connected the old one. It started up for the first time in over a month!
Now I am baffled. I turned it off and tried to start it again and got the same click noise that made me start this thread. I must be on the right track, but I don't know what could be causing the ground to work/not work at random and why didn't the new ground that I hook up work as a ground?
Any other suggestions would be great, I'm gonna keep messing with it.

Problem Solved!
Ended up not having anything to do with the ground at all. The problem was the cable that supplied the power to the starter. (You know, the red cable from the positive battery terminal). It just needed to be repaired. Once I did that it started right up.
I hope this helps anyone having the same problem. I know just how frustrating it can be sometimes!![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
