Default My weekend... 2.4 swap included...

So yeah... Got to a late start over to boxers... got there around 5pm or so... Got the motor out in less then 2 hours... Lost every tool we had 1000 times... heard the words "wheres the blank tool" about a million times along with me saying it about a million times, all in all we probally spent like 5 hours total over the 3 days that i was there searching for tools... got it in and running, only thing that he needs to do is get a 6 inch lenth of 1/2 inch hose for the pvc valve, get it to a muffler shop to get a downpipe made, and install the pt cruiser water outlet oring... But it runs and sounds really nice... dident keep it running that long due to no exhaust and we dident want to burn up a exhuast valve...

So anyways on the way home i get to kalispell mt and I hear this knock and my heart sank... got out seen that the alternator belt is shreaded a bit, decide to push on... about 60 miles down the road my alternator belt snaps and the battery starts to drain... but I still push on... need to get to the next town... witch is browning... its the one town in montana you do not want to get stuck in, ie... you will be robbed shot killed... its on a poor indian reservation... normally you just roll up your windows and keep going... but I had to stop... so i pull into the first gas station i see... girl's like no part stores no machanics open on sunday... brother works at shop but doesent have a key... asked her if she knew any other macanics in town... she said go next door to my uncles shop he will help you out... go next door... 3 scary looking guys... one guys like yeah ill help you out i own a jy... so he goes and gets a belt... i get it on and realize the top alternator bracket is wiggling and teh top bolt has come out of the block allowing the alternator bracket to wiggle and hence threw the belt taking the power steering belt with it... Get it all ready to go after he charged my battery for a bit to get me going again... asked him how much i owed him and he said just do something good for someone else... so it changed my look on the reservation... got back on the highway and dident let the speedometer fall below 85mph... got home around 7...

what a weekend...

Yeah about the timing belt issue...lol the 2.4 cover will not work with the new style srttentioner pulley.... the 2.4 sits a bit more over on the passenger side and the splash guard covers the whole side... but it sure does purr...
