Default egr block-off valve question

I was bored waiting for class to start, so I popped open mozilla and went to modern performance, and wass just browsing. I found the egr blockoff valve, and it actualyl sounds like a good idea. I know in Europe for the VW TDI's, they dont have egr valves, and they get about 1.5x the mileage that the TDI's in america get, and more power.

I also found out it will keep from getting that nasty buildup in my tb and intake manifold. Think it would be worth buying? I'm all about saving money too, so do you think I might be able to rig something up for next to free?

you can put something solid over the hole on the manifold and just let the egr system hooked up. i dunno if the pcm would like that or not. that mopar block off kit looks like a good buy though. with that you can just get that junk out of ur engine compartment all together.

Yea, I know egr's do absolutley nothing for your engine. They hurt mileage and performance just so your engine can meet emission standards. BAH!

Anyways, I talked to my old man about it, and he said that if I wanted to dump another $50 into the car, it would be a really good buy. As far as throwing codes, I could care less about that. The only reason I wouldn't want to do it is because I only paid $650 for the car and I already threw about another $650 into it so far and I haven't even gotten it on the street yet.

Im looking at it right now, and Im assuming thats for the 420a engine. I honestly can't think of a reason why that wouldn't work. I think I may do that!
