SOHC with DOHC pistons and 2ed gen magnum Head
Hey im new to this fourm im just wondering if you can give me some insite on some things
Im on a tight bugget
FIRST im just about to do a transaxleswap from(ATX to MTX)another neon and i was going to just buy a DOCH whole car soi could take the pistons out of it to put in my SOHC so it will raise my compression from 9.8:1 to 10.3:1 should i do that or should i just go with after market pisons
Second i was reading on this fourm about the magnum head from the 2ed gen neon. i noit blota right up but you have to run there intake and exhaust manafolds and if i was to do this swap on a first gen neon it would make 150 hp or close to it
im just wondering if what i was saying is right
and
if i take the DOHC pistons and put it together with the magnum head what kind of compression it would make and the HP
Thanks

The dohc pistons wont do anything great for ya. I have them. The magnum head is a high flow head with a more agrressive cam. But good luck finding one within your budget. GOod luck finding one period. I would say you will be at about 150 with some bolt ons, dohc pistons, and magnum head. I am sure jeremy has a comment for this.
my goal is around300hp but i dont no how obtainable that is
im going to deck my engin block for a higher compression if the mangum head comes around some wher that will be good
your prefernce on neons dohc or sohc

I was about to switch to the dohc. But found a built port/polished sohc head for my price range. No way you will reach 300 all motor on a 2.0 neon engine. You will need a turbo. Magnum head goes for about 300-500 depending on miles and whats done to it. You will be lucky to pull over 200 with a fully built high compression lower end, high flow manifold, all the bolt ons, mega squirt, and magnum head with porting/ploshing and big cam.
What HP do you think ill get out if it after i put the 5 speed in the DOHC pistons magnum head if i can find one and i deck the block and some high flow fule injectors
also what are you thoguht on a mopar PCM?

ok heres the deal...
The fastest N/A neon is Jeff ***** 2.4, and hes only pushing ~245 hp and thats with crane 28's a 800 dollar set of cams.
sohc cant do this... there has only been a few that have even got to 200 hp. You honestly would be looking right around 150-155 to the wheels... and thats only if you ditch the mag exhaust and get a long tube and got the afx race pcm.

and your stock injectors will be good till the 170-200 hp mark.
