Default So I need some opinions...

I may have the chance to trade my stock neon for a 93 plymouth laser turbo.

what are your inputs? should i do it if i like the laser? or should i save up and pimp the neon. as it sits now, the laser is pushin more horse than the neon, so thats a big selling point for me...

thoughts?Ideas?

THanks
Vinnie

Default DON't do it!!!!

if the laser is in good shape and nothing is seriously wrong with it i guess .... nvm unless it's a 6bolt swap don't do it jst keep the neon and save for boost and then get your power gains. the motors is notorious for oil leaks and they blow alot jst go to a mitubishi forum and just look around alot of people blow them because they go to far with the boost and don't get stronger internals. you know what your neon can do and that i can get you around keep it forger the laser jst boost the neon and call it a dat

Ok so that leads me to my next question then, (^thats kinda what i was thinkin Slo) in february/march-ish, ill have about 1500 to spend on the car unless something goes wrong and i need it for something else. So whats everyones opinion there? heres what ive been thinking, let me know if you like those ideas, or if you have your own:

1.N/A 2.4 Swap
2.Turbo'd 2.4 swap (either pt gt or srt)
3.turbo the 2.0
4. Nitrous the 2.0

Im thinking, financially, the best bet is going to be do a 2.4 N/A swap, and then save for the turbo. Unless I can get my hands on a turbo'd 2.4 for fairly cheap

Let me know what you think

Oh and on a side question, anyone know what i should be expecting for hp out of each of the above? thanks

Vinnie

yeah DSM = no go... but anyways for your swap. go with the 2.4L N/A and then save for the turbo. Stock the 2.4L only has 150HP. but it has around 160ft. lbs. of torque which actually gets you going. so its worth it even just going N/A. Or you could be like me and build up the SOHC...

if i had a SOHC id prolly build it up but my motor is DOHC, i dont really feel like swapping to a sohc just to build it up. Um, ok so 2.4 N/A was what i was thinking, then save for turbo.

Anybody got any opinions on eibach lowering springs? Probably going to go with those and some kyb's as well.

If you plan on "pimping" your neon, it's probably best to sell it, regardless of what for.

would you be able to send me ur setup i would like to take a look at it maybe it would be fun to build the sohc

if u really enjoy your neon keep it do the 2.4 swap and then go turbo but if ur really somewhat lazy u know jst trade it in get an srt4 and use the 1500 for thepayments your going to be making on it they are going for about 12 grand which is not bad .... but if u want to stay out of debt lol 2.4 on boost ftmfw

what do you recomend for springs/retainers spud? got a link?

EDIT: Ok so this is what modern performance has to say about the 18's

180-0018 - Radical street/drag race profile. Needs all major mods. Increased compression, race header w/equal length long primary tubes Aftermarket ECM, race prepped head porting. RPM range 2,500-7,500

Is that not a good choice for daily drivage?

18's are going to be a bit too drastic...anything else?
