500% a stick is better for a variety of reasons

1) driving stick means you are driving the car, not just steering
2) it is better for icy conditions because you can reduce speed by downshifting, not braking

I dont know how it is from where veryone else is from, but if you're car isn't stick, you get NO respect

This is just pathetic, everyone has their opinion. Let it be. They only thing that matters is who is ahead at the end of the 1/4, so if you want to line up and post a picture of the of the time slip then do it, if not shut up!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. It's stupid crap like this that ruined the last forum I was a member of. Stick vs. auto, FWD vs. RWD, this vs. that. The bottom line is it doesn't matter!! It's all an opinion. Each might have it's adavantages for certain applications. To each their own. That's it.

look at high end cars, like the me-412. it had a 'manually shifted automatic transmission'. you know what that means?
It's called a sequential transmission. It's not an auto, and it's not a stick. A sequential doesn't use torque converters or clutches. From what I've read about them they use a dog box. And the cost for one of them is around the price a SRT-4.

Sounds like ya got some cool cars but 5-speed is the way to go, just go buy one and teach yourself how to drive it, its the best way to learn.

auto's are way too doggy. even with a turbo. 5-speed is much more fun to drive even if the car has no power.
