Hey everyone i just signed up for the forums today , cause i am interested in purchasing a used neon ... here is the specs ...

Dodge Neon
2 Door
Black
5 Speed Standard

All needs for safety is Oxygen Sensor (which he is providing) Brand New

Now my question is ... He was asking $700 for it a lil while ago .. i guess that didn't go good so he kept reducing it cause he needs it gone , since hes got 2 other vehicles .. So i told him id give him 175 Cash in hand .. he says 275 and its mine ... Is this a good deal ? All it needs is the O2 sensor ... How would i go about installing that ? Is it an easy fix/hard ? or would i need some help ... I did see pics of the vehicle it's really decent shape .. i like it i do want the car but just seeing how easy the O2 Sensor would be to fix up ... Other then that .. i hope i do get it and if i do i will be back on forums to start customizing, and such

For $275, I'd buy it. The sensor costs about $75 from the parts store. It is an easy replacement, especially if you get the tool for it.

Even if it isn't in great condition, you could sell the parts and make a little change off of it.

 

Freakin hell $275? Whats (really) wrong with it? A car will run without O2 sensors, you should start it and drive it first, but even if the engine is toast thats a deal to me! Oh and welcome to Dodgeforum.

 

Thanks guys im gonna go ahead and get it i am 100% sure .. anyways i asked him if it was the REAR or Front O2 and he says he doesn't know .. as of 3 weeks ago he was still driving it and now just parked it .. so ill pick it up friday .. i will post pics when i get it ill take em myself too let y'all see it .. cause the pics he sent me where a lil darker .. but as far as im concerned cannot complain for 275 .. im gonna tell him i got 225$ and take it or leave it haha if he says no go ill say lemme get another 25$ and 250 ill take it .. guaranteed he will do it ... So friday ill have it .. thanks for the posts ... enigine, tranny, windshield is fine ... no rust outside ... i dunno ill keep yall posted anyways .. !!

 

yes that is a good deal providing thats the only thing wrong with it and is it just a regular 2dr or is it a r/t??Cuz if thats a r/t thats a really good deal

 

they didnt make the r/t's in 1997

o0o did the r/ts start in 98 sorry to rob your post....and yah either which way its a good deal cuz you could part it out and make more then that off of it lol..

 

sounds like a good deal. and yeah the R/T started in 1998. Oh and if it runs, just drive it down to the nearest Autozone and have them scan it. it should tell you bank 1 or bank 2. bank 1 is the upstream (front one) and bank 2 is the downstream (back one).

 

yah or it will show more codes if the guy isnt telling you the truth lol...as i got stuck with a lemon neon put alot of money into it and got rid of it for cheap so watch out for that but if that is the case just part it out
