Default Cheap parts!

i bought a short shift from ebay for 7.50....installed it in less than a hour mounted factory **** and have no problems check it out

You got a shorter shifter, not a short throw shifter.

maddog sst he makes the best if he is still into it.. he can get up to 70% shorter throws and warrenties his shifters..

i didnt post a link but i like the change.....sure its only a 40% throw reduction but for 7.50 i think its sweet and like the feel over factory....just search short shift on ebay motors

I don't believe it shortens the throw, just makes it shorter.

Just shortening the length of the shifter should still shorten the throw of it some as long as the pivot point stays the same.

I guess that's why some people just cut the stock shifter.

Yeah, personally I'd rather not have the shifter be a little nub sticking out of the console. I'd feel like you had to reach so much further that it would be uncomfortable.

shortening the shifter does nothing to shorten the trhow.. below the pivot the shifter moves the same and throws the same... ever look at rally cars... long shifters with very short throws.... you need to midify the shifter its self and the throw under the pivot... for what you did you could have done a die grinder or sawzaw and cut it for free

The throw stays the same under the pivot, but the distance above the pivot that the **** travels shortens because of the shorter length of the shaft. Simple geometry.
