Default what kind of trans should i use?

Let my friend use my car first mistake cuz it came back on a tow truck. Didnt pull the trans yet but im pretty sure it needs one you can see something popped a hole in the case. im wondering what would be the best setup to use. i plan on running a mild turbo set up in the summer

Use the 3.55 tranny. They are better for turbo neons.

The 3.55 came in all SOHC neons, with the exception of the ACRs.

What do you think would be my best route as far as boosting a sohc?

It will all have to be custom as there are no more aftermarket kits for the neon any longer. You may find a used kit on ebay or other forums, but you won't find a new one. One easier route would be to swap a DOHC head on your car and use the SRT-4 turbo as it bolts directly to the head. Of course, there is much more involved but that is the quickest and one of the cheaper routes to go.

Will I have a problem finding parts if I swap to the dohc head?

You shouldn't. If so, let me know and I can help you out. Read the sohc to dohc head swap from the stickies up top.

i was considering the 2.4 swap but how much of the sohc wiring harness will work. ive heard its fairly easy if your swapping it with a dohc
