Short block has no cylinder head or oil pan. You use your cylinder head. A long block is supplied with a a cylinder head installed.
Our Short & Long blocks are both balanced and blueprinted. Our long blocks have our Stage 6 cylinder head with cams installed and degreed for maximum performance.

420A = Avenger, Talon, Eclispe, Sebring Coupe 4 cylinder
ECB = Neon SOHC 95-02 Except R/T
ECC = Neon DOHC 95-99
No 420A version was ever used in a Neon, the cylinder head and pistons are backwards.

420A is the name Mitsu gave the long block in the Eclipse. D4RE (DOHC) and S4RE (SOHC) are the names Chrysler gave the Neon long blocks. Other than the '95 SOHC (stupid bearings...), all the short blocks are the same, just different pistons.
