Is it not something I can check out myself? I tried taking out the 2 torx screws but could only get 1 out, the other was so tight it stripped the tool so I couldnt get it off. Is the only thing it can be the IAC? Since I did the plugs + pcv today it doesnt seem to go down at all now. Is that related at all or just a coincidence? Before I changed that it would do its high/low thing like it was doing the other day. But now its like 1500rpm atleast, and the tranny doesnt like being gear selected at that rpm.

Can I get a new IAC? Price, p/n? And is it all one piece (the part with the spring inside the TB too).

Ive got a chiltons manual I picked up today I plan to do some more reading on. Someone please help if it hasnt already been said

well when we had our replaced we (actually my sister since she was 500 miles away) took it to the local Dodge Dealership (bad idea...go to 5 star one...) and they charged us like 400 for the part + work...and they didn't even do it correctly. i honestly dont know cause frankly i dont even know where it is...i've tried and couldn't find it... i'm sure i was looking straight at it but just couldn't tell...

Well damn Im definately not doing that. Im a mechanic so I can do it myself, its just a matter of deciding what needs changing. Can the IAC go bad? Or can this even by a sign of a bad PCM?

Its not even going back down again, and it seems higher since I did a small tune up the other day. (over 1500rpm) and its making me nervous when I need to park and go back into gear because of how much rpm it has to drop once its in gear, not good for motor mounts either I suppose.

Did you pull the 02 sensors?
My car would idle high, stay high, then come down. It sounded like it had crane 22's, but was stock. If you don't have a leak, this is what it is.

You mean have I pulled them and not reinstalled them? Well in either case I havent touched anything exhaust related yet. If its the O2 sensors, then what is going on?

if the O2 sensors are covered in carbon like your TB was they might not get a good enough sample of the exhaust and run lean, causing the high idle. try poping them out and hitting them with a wire brush. if that don't help you might need neww ones. good luck.

Ok cool ill give that a shot too. Just spray carb cleaner on them? What about brake cleaner?

I was playing around with the PCV hose today, (which half of it is new, and a new valve) and I was putting pressure on it seeing if anything was leaking. And it may have been coincidental/timing but the idle went down a little and made a little hissing noise when I was pushing on the hose. Its all clamped down good, so im not sure whats going on. Coincidental I think
