What Cam you running?
OK its like this i want to put in a cam looking at the Crane 158 0012 or 12 grind they call it how much will i gain and do i need to upgrade the pcm to run it?
What are you all runnig and how much did you gain?
So far i have a few mods, engine only and want more low end torque. Got plenty of speed just looking to get off the line faster.
So far i have installed the K&N cai, Indy manifold, 55MM TB, TTI shorty header, solid front mount, neo, on the other two, 30% underdrive pully, MSD coil and super conductor wires. Havent installed the street strip tranny kit yet but have it and im droping a straight flow muffler on this weekend.
So about this cam what ya'll think?

RE: What Cam you running?
Its possible but I dont think thats the cause of your knock, knocks are caused by bad lifters, no oil in the motor, bad oil in the motor, ect...
The Performanc Cam that Mopar sells(cam stok on the 95 years so you guys are good to go) i belive is the best one out there for the Neon, considering its made by the car manufacturor and has a known history of being effective.

RE: What Cam you running?
So no one knows if this 12 grind will run with the stock pcm?
Thanks anyways maybe i can get the info from Crane site.
oh and the only Mopar preformance cam i can find is not street legal.[&o]
and the pcm Mopar puts out wont go with my atx and is not legal in NY so no luck there either.
Oh well thankfully there are alot of after market parts out there.

RE: What Cam you running?
You can run the 0012 cam with the stock PCM. I mean, the engine will turn over, the pistons will move up and down, all that jazz. That cam, like all the aftermarket cams, are designed primarily to help the top end. You'll still get some bottom end along with it, but the biggest gains (10-12 HP, on a car with appropriate breathing mods) are going to be above the stock 6750 RPM rev limiter, which is controlled by your PCM. Additionally, any aftermarket cam you get is going to need stronger valve springs (except the Comp Cams 200). Even with the '95 cam, the valves start floating around 7200 RPM. The cheapest, most reliable replacements are the stock Magnum (2001-up R/T or ACR) springs.
The specs on the Mopar 4 HP cam are the same as the stock 1995 cam. Mopar also has a 6 HP camshaft, which has the same specs as the 2001 Magnum cam. The 6 HP cam and 2001 Magnum cam compare to the Crane 0012, where the stock 2002-up Magnum cam compares to the Crane 0010. 6 HP means over the 1996-up regular cams, so only 2 HP over the 1995 cam.
The stock 1995 SOHC:

The stock 2001 Magnum SOHC:
