xplodneonrt, no problem...thats what the forums are for. The neon is an easy car to work on. Try getting a Haynes or Chilton's manual and read through it. They are both very informative.

Alright one more question. I am thinking of doing an engine swap. The engine I am thinking of using is a 2.4L turbo pt cruiser engine. Smart or dumb?

Very smart. You can also use the 2.4 out of the stratus, breeze and cirrus. A cheap 2.4 turbo build would be to use SRT-4 internals.

There's a LOT more to the PT turbo swap! Same as the SRT-4 swap, you will need a ton more parts than you think, including the PCM, instrument cluster, and ignition key (and switch). You're best bet would be to find one wrecked and buy the whole car.

Think things through before you start throwing money at the car. If you are going turbo, the header will be on ebay (they don't work together).

Best of luck!

I think it's because it's one of those key's with a chip in it. It sends a signal to the ECU when you put the key in the ignition.

Edit: ok I just realised this thread is 5 months old.......
