Default Well I finally Ran it!

Guys I finally got my car to the track last weekend.
I was a little disapointed.
I made 5 passes and my best time was a 16.074 @ 86.38mph my 60 ft was 2.395
ooh I dont know.
I guess for a 16 yr old kids first time at the track its not too bad.
I just wish I could have broke 15s.
I know I could have if I made more passes.(it was very crowded)
Plus I was only power shifting into 3rd and 4th I didn't want to break anything.
I thiught I was hooking up pretty good considering I have stock/burt up tires.
What do you guys think Is this time normal for my car/mods?

Work on your launch, shifting, and maybe some better tires and you can get into the 15's easily. Try and get your 60ft time under 2 seconds and there you go.

Oooo, the TB should help some. Also, are you launching hard? Don't just drop the clutch and expect to take off if you don't have slicks or sticky tires on there. I know people like the sound of the tires spinning, but that doesn't help at all in the 1/4 mile. Also look at how much gas you have in the tank. Full tank = extra weight!

yeah I was launching it kinda hard.
Dropping the clutch around 3000
The tires weren't spinnig much though/no wheel hop.
I had less than a half a tank of gas.
And I took out my spare and tools.

Try launching at 2500 and shifting at redline.

Hard to say, but it should help your acceleration a bit.
