Default gauges......I know

My friends dad is gonna re-solder my gauges because they keep acting up like some things working and some things not working at random times. I was just curious but, what would you be looking for to see if the connections are bad, what makes it bad/go bad ?

They just get old. You may need to add a little bit of solder also.

Hey, we all start somewhere! You will learn that the neon is an easy car to work on. Before you know it, you will be swapping trannies and engines in a day.

indeed you will save, especially if you have good tools and garage access.

well I thought they worked fine, they do pretty much, but the speedometer drops sometimes, and it makes a clicking noise, along with the door ajar light flashing...... Does anybody know what else it could be ?
