where to find 5speed kit on the net
hi i own a 95 neon and its an auto and i want to convert it to a 5 speed, i was wondering if anybody knew a source on the internet where i could buy a whole kit for the installation.
and also another question, the neon guage cluster has only gas, mph, and temp. can i just replace it with a guage cluster from another neon that has a rpms guage? or would it be cheeper to just get a tachometer?

the clusters just swap out...all you need is the new one and BANG! you have a tach....its actually harder to install just an aftermarket tach then a new cluster
i dont know of any place on the internet that sells a kit....i have everything needed to swap that i would sell but you live all the way up there in wisconsin....im in norther illinois...about an hour south of beloit, WI......kinda a long drive....unless you want it bad enough
i also have a very good trans that would work perfect.....the only thing i dont have is the pcm

RE: where to find 5speed kit on the net
i would sell you everything i have that is needed for the swap that i have, for probally $600.00...
the trans is from a 98 r/t....taller 5th gear....under 60,000 miles
the shifter cables
shifter base
shifter handle, **** and boot
clutch cable
drive shaft
pedel assembly
transmission mount
i think that all thats needed....but if more i have it......i recently stripped down my 98 r/t and threw nothing away
there is also the 2 trans-to-motor support brackets
the bad is that i dont have the pcm
the driveshaft needs a new boot clamp installed
the gas pedel itself is broken in half...just the rubber pedel...and can be swapped over from your current one by removing a cotter pin
i dont have a clutch.....well i do, but it was slipping for sum reason when it was in the car last.....but you can have the flywheel, pressure plate, and throw out bearing.......the bearing which is brand new...so you wont have any chatter in the winter
if anything else is needed i will post it as well

I have heard of some 95's not being wired for a tach. Pull your cluster out and look at the right cluster connection, if you see a grey wire w/a black tracer, that's your tach wire. It runs from the PCM.

thanks for the replies, i unscrewed my old tack and boom the new one slipped right in and it works!
I will e-mail spudsterier if i'll buy the kit from you, it probably won't be anytime soon since i'm doing more exterior work right now with a body kit.
thanks again
