Default My 97 Dodge Neon Tie Rod

Ok here my mom had this car and she was driving it and my dad said that he knows it has a bad tie rod but he's not sure if its the inner or the outter tie rod. After my mom got a 95 neon the old one sat for 4 years and now i drive it but i made it in better shape gave it a paint job just basically all teenager rigged. But the car does have a bad tie rod and what will happen if i keep driving with the bad tie rod? And how long will i beable to drive with it?

It will wear your tires out unevenly and quicker. The outer ones are pretty cheap and easy to do. The inner ones are a bit tougher but still pretty simple. I'd suggest doing both sides at the same time and then getting an alignment afterwards.

just spend the money and get it fixed, its a helluva lot cheaper then a paint job. There are 2 things you dont mess around with. Brakes and steering. If your car bursts into flames because you messed around with the motor or wiring then its just you who goes. If you mess around with the steering and brakes you take yourself and everyone around you's life into jepordy.

My mom drove it and it was bad and then she stopped because she got another neon and the car sat for 4 yrs and now im driving it. It's been fine these past few weeks. Sometimes it'll pull me to the left but it hasnt lately. Will i start to feel the tires wear down? I look at the tires everytime im parked here at home and they look fine. But still will i start to feel the difference?

Keep driving on them and yes you will see and feel the difference. Spend the money now, so you don't have to buy new tires as well.

I think the more important thing here other then tires is if that Tie Rod is rusted out and it breaks you will lose your steering.

It will take some time depending on how many miles you put on it in a day.

Was your mom racing it when it went bad? It will continue to wear and possibly break.
