Wile working on upgradeing your car is fine, and respected on my behalf I must take the time to expresss my view on the Neon. Wile I did love my car and liked playing around with it a little bit I did not forget that it is infact a cheap econo box. Wile some of you have very nice Neons (DAS for example) you must remember that unless you have an R/T do not waste your money. If you honestly want to make your Neon fast your silly. The car was not built for hot rodding and if you think your the **** with the little bugger you are retarded. I am tired of hearing half the bull **** statements about how you smoked a civic here and there, or an Integra with your stock Neon. Wile your run of the mill Civic is a slow *** turd take this into account.

A Civic Si Stock runs around 15.5. There is no stock Neon on the face of the friggen earth that could even dream of that number, not even the R/T.

The Integra GS-R, same story. No way in Gods green Earth will you pass one. You might have a 95 that may keep up with one untill 3rd gear but unless you turbo the thing it will always pass you.

The Neon is not a more capable car than any of these. I am telling you right now, any punk kid who thinks they can take a Neon and go kill every Si they see is retarded, just as stupid as those of us who think the more primer you put on a teg the faster it is, or hood pins add 80 hp. If you wanna have a fast car heres my advice. Save your damn money. No car has ever caused me more headaces and time stuck at home stranded than my Neon.

 

I know plenty of stock DOHC neons that run mid 15's all day! The neon is a quick car, but nowhere near the quickest, but neither is a Civic SI. Stock vs stock they are comparable and would be a driver's race.

I happen to like the 99-00 Civic SI, but they are more expensive to mod.

I also know plenty of neon owners who are putting down well over 200-250HP on there econo boxes and some who have put out more than 400 WHP [8D]...so they can be modded quite heavily and be extremely fast!

And the GS-R has 128 lb/fts of torque @ 6200 rpm whereas the DOHC neon has 133 ft/lbs of torque @ 5600 RPM...so which one gets moving a bit quicker????

every kid thinks modding a honda is awsome....but no one likes a neon...except us.....alot of us dont like honda and alot of hondas dont like us....its just the way things are.....

give it a month or so until i get my turbo and nitrous on.....but then again, that wont make the car any fast will it?????

 

i have some Honda friends.. and i like them and i dont have a problem with them.. except one lol... hes all Honda and thinks a plain jane Honda DX can beat a stock Neon and such which it cant... and my other friend who i've known for a very long time and talked a lot of car stuff with him before we even had our licence and stuff is pretty cool... he's a honda boy...but he's not like oh my car can beat anything and such... and he actually knows what true performance is... he's not going with any body kit or anything but just pure performance... which is fine... and he's not a jerk so its all good lol

 

I can easily give a Honda Si a run for its money. I run with a 98 R/T with 191k miles on it and I run high 15's. As a matter of fact, I recently beat a Talon TSI running 20psi... So ha

What difference does it make which particular style neon you have? all of the engines are interchangeable... The possibilities are endless. There are some of us who arent so much concerned with how difficult or how expensive it is to make a neon faster, but just the point that it can be done. Its one thing to take a car thats vtech and tune it up a little bit, but if your car is fast to begin with, what point are you proving? If we all really wanted to go as fast as we could we would all have bought subaru wrx's and such. The point is that we LIKE the look and feel of the neon, and the fact that its totally unexpected that a neon would be as fast as some people's are.

If you really wanted to logically weigh this out... a used honda costs a ****load more than a used 1st gen neon. vtech engines are pretty expensive to tune and thus the parts cost is also higher. you could buy a cheaper neon... mod it with cheaper parts, and essentially have a cheaper, faster or equally performing car.

Basically what I'm saying is: dont **** on other people's dreams just because you dont consider it worth it. Nothing is a "waste" of money if it gets you what you want.

About bashing honda owners... I think that when people talk **** about honda owners we dont mean every single person owning a honda, but the vast majority who does believe that that huge spoiler will help them in a front wheel drive car that cant break 100mph. You gotta admit, there are a lot of them out there. I have some intelligent honda friends too, but they arent in the majority.

Besides... Hondas dont come with the tao... which is a very important feature standard in every neon.

 

haha yes... lol someone in the Neon club i'm in asked us all what made us like the Neon... and i just simple copied and pasted that story of the Tao in there lol...plus how i came to love them... anyways lol time to ignore this post...if i can...

Take it easy on the guy...not everyone likes neons...pity for them. If you notice in his sig, he will be driving a turbo'd neon instead. So he is STILL GETTING A NEON
