UH OHHH!!! TIMING BELT TENSIONER
Tonight on the way back from Bemidji, all of a sudden i got a check engine light and my car started running DOGGIER AND DOGGIER. And ABSOLUTELY no power and chugging real bad. Get it back into my town of residence and i slow down to turn and a bunch of rattling noise my timing belt against the plastic cover and she died. So pull it 3 blocks to my place and get the cover ripped off and here it's loose, not broken. So it musta been the timing belt tensioner. God a code 11 and 32, Timing belt jumped a tooth or more, and Single or Multiple engine misfire. So now in the process of rippin 'er down. It's alrite anyways i guess i was putting a new radiator and power steering pump in this weekend so why not add somethin else!! Lol o wells that's why i wanted a lil tuner car, to work on [8D]

OK, so we get it all apart last nite, and here the timing belt tensioner and the idler pulley for the timing belt were TOTALLY DISINEGRATED!!!! Absolutely NOTHING left of them. Lol. Here i thought that noise was my power steering pump going to crap on me!! Lol so this could be interesting, before we started tearing it apart it still ran and everything, just REALLY ****ty. So i don't think i bent any valves, and yes unfortunately it is an interference engine. So it could be real interesting. I'll compression check it after i get the new belt n pulleys back on though, see what happens.

Went to Autovalue today and got the parts, 2 tensioners and a Timing belt and $110 later. I was told a new timing belt was put on it at 100k, and i pulled the cover off when i got it and it looked new, and its recomended to replace the tensioners when u replace the timing belt, and they're recommended to be changed at 105k, and i had 107k on my car when this happend. O well put it together tomorrow n do a compression check lol.
