short shifter
alright
so i had to take my short shifter out becuase everyone was saying how hard it was to shift into reverse
so im stuck with the stock shifter for now
and i noticed when i put it in that the bottom part that connects to the bushing is facing the opposite way the stock one faces
i'm pretty sure thats why its so hard to put into reverse
i was just wondering if i should just get the hurst one
or if i should go find another stick at pick-n-pull and just cut it 1/1.5 inches

Unless its a family vehicle, whats it matter if its hard for others to put it in reverse? As long as you know how to do it it shouldnt matter. If it were me, I would tell em its a theft deterant :-D
when i put my short shifter in it was a little hard to get into reverse...then i looked at it and the bushing for the cable on the passenger side was rubbing on the shifter base frame.....so i sanded the bushing down a little and now it doesnt have a problem.....

Then its not a short shifter, but rather a cut shifter. There is a difference.

a cut shifter just lowers the handle hight and movement you arm has to make....
sts actually moves the selection of the gears to a closer ratio, while the height is still lower and you dont have to move your arm as much.....
if you remove your center console and your buddies and move your shifters side to side, the sts will have a shorter distance traveled
