Hey Everyone, i have a problem with the battery light coming on and draining the battery if the cables are left on. I Changed the alternator and it still runs awkward. It sometimes idles high, (2-2 1/2 rpms) but always drops when i come to a stop. I just rescently upgraded to some 2 gauge battery cables and ever since then ive been having problems. The car starts fine, idles fine, drives fine. But when i come to a stop it revs up, and the battery light remains on. Any suggestions?

when the battery light comes on its just saying that sumthing isnt right with the charging system......generally the car will rev higher at a stop because the alternator is trying to charge the battery...if the battery had a decent amount of charge in it, then the car wouldnt rev high......
is sumthing not tight all the way, or are the clamps dirty????
sumthing in the new wiring must be shorting out to cause it to drain the battery

there is a battery temp sensor located on the bottom of the battery tray that will cause the batt. light to come on and its easy to forget to reconnect it if youve had the tray out
