Default DOHC trans?

Do the DOHC models have a lower geared transmission than the SOHC models? Just seems like my girl's 97 2dr DOHC 5sp revs a bit high on the freeway at about 70 it's around 4k rpm. I'm just wondering if the SOHC is higher geared, maybe gain a few mpg?

spud the SOHC trans has a 3.55, the DOHC has a 3.94, plus 2 different 5th gears, depending on model

my r/t with the 3.94 tranny averaged 38mpg on the way hope from virginia a couple weeks ago...and thats with a filthy stock air filter, and no tune up of any kind, and bad front tires...I bet I could have done 40-41 with a new K&N, plugs, wires, and good tires inflated properly!!!

now the car has the sohc tranny...but i dont expect to get better gas milage because of the turbo
