Questions:
How much would it take to get 200hp (list both crank and whp) out of a 1st gen non R/T neon.
Depends on what engine you are talking about? All DOHC neons are rated at 150HP and SOHC's are rated at 132HP. You specified a non-R/T model, yet my 99 Sport had the same engine as the R/T. To get either to 200 whp you would either go turbo or some serious engine mods, and I don't mean bolt-ons.

What would it take to a 1st gen non R/T neon run with an SS S/C cobalt or a Honda s2000?
You'd probably need a turbo for both.

Either way, a SRT-4 would kill both [8D]

yea the S2000 is
K20 6-speed
for one the s2000 are f20c motors they arent k20a k20 are front wheel drive motors

i also think a neon could keep up with a ss idk about the s2000 plus he said non r/t but what about acr neons they are faster then r/ts

plus i keep up with gt mustangs and vetts but mine is an r/t

Lets say we were using the bare bottom bonestock neon, SOHC motor 132 at the crank (rated). N/A You would need:

Intake
Extrude and Honed or New Intake manifold
Throttle Body
Headwork (P&P)
New Cam + cam gear
Longtube Header
Full Exhaust system
UDP
ECU Flash or chip
Motor Mounts

and all that would probably only bump your car to around 160-170whp-maybe 180 if you get everything adjusted.

With a turbo + previously stated mods (excluding header), you would see far beyond 220 running very very low boost. Running around 8 PSI i wouldnt doubt mid 13's or mid 12's in a quarter mile with a turbo and supporting mods. Plus first gens are pretty light and they have much better power per weight than second gens.

So, with that...
