Default Shifting

hey ppl, I was jus wonderin wat you're shifting at and at wat RPMS. this is all in km's (Canadian)
I jus find my shiftin a lil messed up, this is wat I shift at, at around 3000-4000 rpm : 1st 0-20, 2nd 20-40, 3rd 40-60, 4th 60-80 an 5th is 80 to watever, I havent gotten to high I've hit 140 km tho but I jus found it weird that I have to shift so soon. Is that how it is?

DOHC or SOHC? If you are DOHC, you can wind it out to around 7200rpm (thats pushing it.. 6500 is usually safest)... SOHC I beleive is 5700rpm

I'm not concerned about how much I can push my RPM's its the short shifting phase that confuses me......its so quick. I mean I'd b in fourth gear on just a main street not even a highway. k this is wat I shift at in miles approx. 1st 0-12, 2nd 12-25, 3rd 25-35, 4th 35-50 an 5th is50to watever

icic ok this is how it goes for me... 1st:0-15 (10 if i'm in traffic), 2nd10)15-25, 3rd: 25-30, 4th: 30-40(45) 5th anywhere above 43mph....yea i shift a lot lol

what i've also find is as long as the RPMs didn't dip to/below 1500rpms your doing good...cept in 5th...where i dont let it get below 1700rpms.

The 3.55 tranny is better for turbo applications.

so wat do I have? the SOHC tranny? cause I got a DOHC engine. Is theSOHC tranny 3.55? Anyway only reason why I'm really worried about this is cause I work pretty far, an on the highway I'm hittin 3000-3500 an hittin that for half an hour is not doin too good to my gas mileage.
