Can someone tell me what this is?
If anyone knows what this part is please let me know
Here is a link to an image of the part

It has 2 vacuum hoses comming from it. I can not trace one of them and the other looks as if it goes to the air intake system.
IF you can't tell I don't know much about this car.
This part is located on the passanger side of the car.
It is making a ticking sound and smells as if it is buring up inside. Nothing is open at this time today being a holiday to see if autozone or some other place many know what it is.
There are some numbers on the top of it but doing a google search turns up nothing 3484-6-17

RE: Can someone tell me what this is?
I sent the image to one of my friends also, he said it was the EGR VALVE. Said it runs around 50 from a parts store. He told me how to try and clean it out first so I am going to try that tomorrow.
The smell is something like a mix between burning rubber or plastic to buring wires. The smell is not there at all until the clicking noise shows up. The clicking is not there till about 2 min after you start it up. I will also note that it is at idle in park that it shows up.
If cleaning doesn't work I will look for a junk yard. I am not going to pay 50 or more for this thing. This car past its last leg years ago. It a base 95 plymouth neon with somewhere around 160-180,000 miles on it.
Stod4, You say you have a spare. What would you want for shipping and all that?
Thanks for all of your replys.

If the ticking or clicking is normal then I guess the smell may be from somewhere else in that area. Is there any sure way of testing that part to see if it is bad? I will put it in the garage tomorrow when I get home from work and look it over again.
