I personally like the sohc because its a little simpler and quite a bit cheaper to modify...sometimes...

i noticed that crane valve springs for the sohc are more expensive then the dohc...in all honesty, they are about the same to modify besides the cams and gears.....but then again you have twice as many

it dosent matter witch you have they both can help the motor produce gobs of power

dohc's help you more in the top end......but depending on what you have done to the car, you wont notice it anyways......
