Default Bad Oxygen Sensor?

Somy car is throwing a code that says high input in O2 sensor.I went under my car to check which of the two was the problematic one. From what I understand the sensors should be between 5 and 7 homs. The one after the cat was fine, but the one before the cat was reading 7.8 ohms. The sensor is $80,I want to know if replacing it will solve the problem.

I woudl assume so. If you get the car read by an OBDII scanner by like Advance Auto or something liek that, it will tell you which sensor is bad ;-) Get under there and make sure you dont have bare wire somewhere or somthign along those lines, too!

yeah i had an OBD II scanner scan it, it said it was the sensor closet to cylinder 1 or something like that,i just want to make sure replacing it will take care of the problem, don't want to spend 80 bucks for nothing. I checked the wiring and it all seemed fine.

Reset the PCM and see if the code comes back. If so, pull it, clean it with CRC Electronic parts cleaner on the sensor[/b] and the connections, reinstall, clear code. Then wait to see if it comes back again. If it does, replace the sensor.

I reset the PCM twice and it came back every time. I'll try cleaning it, thanks for your help.
