RE: Stock motor+ turbo=?
50 bucks + actual us mail postage? Mine is aluminum which acts great to disapate heat between the head and manifold.

This is the mattdog adapter plate?

PS, still interested in the Dyno of your exhaust setup on your 1st gen. Would like to see how HP increased throughout the power band.

i was thinking of doin the 2.4 swap at one point but then i figured that the extra money it would take to buy the 2.4 in the first place is just more money that could just go into the 2.0

im just gonna do everything i can to this poor little motor...except just mild cams...nothing out ragous since the car is gonne be driven all the time
Yea, thats my problem. I am going to be driving it as a DD(well not ALL the time but pretty much) and I am not sure how reliable the 2.4 would be on 7-10 psi?

About the plate, I think if I am going this I will atleast get a dohc head for on it, so I won't need it, but thanks anyway [sm=smiley20.gif]

A 2.4 swap with SRT internals can be very reliable on 7-10 psi.

See thats the problem though, I don't really want to rebuild the motor, I didn't want to go inside the block. I don't want to spend a lot of $ ( not more than like $2k) and I would have to take the motor to someone to have the new internals all in and still only be getting 224-245hp? Honestly if I put a turbo and megasquirt on my current car I can be running 250hp without even opening the head. So I dunno, I'm kinda torn between the 2.

So a 2.4 won't be reliable on 7-10 psi without srt-4 internals?

Yes it would be...but I was just stating with SRT internals, it would be very reliable.

RE: Stock motor+ turbo=?
that depends on the condition of the engine and how many milesare on it. it really wouldnt be a good idea to get a 2.4 engine from a junkyard, boost it, and expect for it to last a long time...u mine as well do the srt internals......so there wont be a chance of a thrown rod or a spun bearing...just my .02

^^^Especially when you can get used pistons and rods for about $100.

there that cheap? Never got into a neon motor before, is it a Pain? I am assuming that the srt-4 internals doesn't fit in the 2.0 without boring it?
