Default Somes updates/mods to my truck

Ok so since I got back home I did a few modifications to my truck along with regular old maintenance. Added the K and N air cleaner. Havnt noticed a difference in performance and nothing in MPG, maybe even a little worse. Also swapped my old stock steering shaft for the Borguison (not sure of spelling). Definetly tightened up the steering so it was well worth it. Rolled my own bedliner too. Very happy with how it looks and so far it has held up. Only one peel so far.

Finally got my passenger door open, well someone else did it. But it is still a mystery to why it gets stuck shut when the door is locked and closed. Only gets stuck locked when its closed. Have to pry the lock lever up with a screwdriver to get it to unlock.

Ended up having to replace all my balljoints too. Got my e-brake cables replaced too. Changed the rear differential oil myself and painted the cover hemi orange. Looks good too although it was a rushed job so I didnt prep as well as I needed to so the paint most likely wont hold up. Spray painted the visor aswell.

making this post from Rapid City, SD. On my way to Seattle from Alabama. Truck has been doing good. Been getting a steady 11 to 11.5 MPG cruising between 57-69 (speedo wont keep a steady speed, quite annoying). Got 9 on a couple takes but Im blaming that on the Fuel. For some reason the higher octane fuel is cheaper up here, it does contain the 10% ethanol though but Im used to having ethanol in the Reg. anyway. Went through the Badlands, amazing place. Ill add a pick of my truck there.

Also add a couple others.

Steering shaft replacement. I recommend having a second person with you, makes it much easier, migh not even be able to with one person.

My Dodge meets my Dad's dodge for the first time. Quite a difference between the two. My Dad's is a 92 D150 5 speed. Love driving it, its got some power.

ya. i would say those are the 2 most commonly sold plugs at almost every parts store. you wouldn't think there is much of a difference but i seem to notice the difference. i think the ngk's allow the engines to idle lower. i am hoping after i change the o2 sensor and a bit more work and it will be getting me some better gas mileage.

How do you know your 02 sensor needs to be changed?

Ever used any of the fancy more expensive spark plugs?

i don't know that my o2 sensor needs to be change. i just guessed it does by the way the rest of the truck has been maintained and i was ordering parts from rockauto so i saved about $50 on the o2 sensor and much more on the other parts. apparently these trucks like the NTK o2 sensor.

as far as fancy spark plugs i have read most of them don't really do much and are just a waste of money. most people say just stick to the copper core one like ngk v groove ones.

Ah, well I might have to look into changing it myself.

Another update. Made it to Spokane, WA today. Yesterday I drove through the black hills and saw mt rushmore along with crazy horse, and Custer's Last stand. Amazing country up through here.

Heres another picture of my truck in the Black Hills. Thought it looked like a great spot for a picture.

looks good. do you have any future mods planned for it? i am almost thinking about trying some electric fans on my ram charger since it is fuel injected but i am not sure if it would be worth the money or not.

Yeah got a few. Still got some random things I want fixed but as for actual mods, I want to get lower gears (oh that reminds I should have 3.54 gears because it takes about 3 and a half turns of my driveshaft to make one rotation of my tire) and/or upgrade to dana 60/70 if I can find a good deal. I also am thinking of getting a new engine. Mine still runs good but got some problems and with the amount of miles on it I think a new engine will be the best bet for the long run. Not sure what engine, originally thinking a 360 but maybe a hemi if the swap wouldnt be too hard. Also thought about swappping in a manual transmission too. I want to get a new sound system aswell, the current one is not good at all.

As for the electric fan, i was talking to someone on here about that before and if I remember right it didnt make that big of a difference but was slightly safer if you were messing around your engine while it was running.

sounds like you might have been talking to me lol. i just figured with a fuel injected engine the the electric fan might do more since the computer can adjust the air to fuel ratio.
